Leadership Grand Prairie

Leadership Grand Prairie offers an educational experience designed to develop an awareness of the City and its relationship to the Metroplex. The program provides personal leadership training facilitated by local business leaders and city officials, using John C. Maxwell’s book “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be better prepared for leadership roles within their business and community.

Leadership Grand Prairie is entering its 35th year, with over 675 alumni to date. This nine month course is open to the community and surrounding businesses. While students have a variety of reasons for exploring the course, one thing is for sure – “The Grand Prairie Leadership Course will enhance today’s leaders for tomorrow’s leadership opportunities” (Kurt Johnson-US Navy).

The Leadership classes are held on the first Wednesday of each month from August 2020 – May 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Program topics include: City Day, Criminal Justice, Arts & Culture, Education, Health & Human Services, Legislative Trip to Austin, Finance, Economic Development and Tourism. The Leadership Class participants will learn about these topics as they relate to the community and the surrounding DFW Metroplex.
